University Cooperative School voted Best in the PNW

We’re thrilled to share that University Cooperative School has been honored with the Bronze Award for Best Elementary School in the Seattle Times’ 2025 Best of the PNW. As the only Seattle elementary school to be selected, this recognition is especially meaningful because it’s a people’s choice award, voted on by our local community. Thank you to everyone who cast a vote and helped shine a light on our vibrant school!

Each year, the Seattle Times invites readers across King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties to vote for their favorite local businesses, organizations, and schools. In 2025, more than 10,000 businesses, organizations, and individuals competed across 298 categories, and the community cast over 944,000 votes! The “Best Elementary School” category celebrates schools that embody community engagement and academic excellence.

Whether you’re a longtime University Cooperative School family or just discovering us, we invite you to celebrate this milestone with us—and to keep building a school that’s bold, joyful, and deeply rooted in community.

This award is a beautiful affirmation of the heart and soul of University Cooperative School as we celebrate our 50th anniversary. We’re honored to be recognized by the community we love and serve. This award reflects the dedication of our educators, the curiosity of our students, and the deep partnership we share with families.
