University Cooperative School is thrilled to welcome you and your family to our Summer Camp program. Our commitment to nurturing curiosity, creativity, play, and problem-solving is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we’ve designed a summer full of week-long adventures that bring these values to life.
We understand that summer offers many choices for how to spend your child’s days, and we want you to feel confident that at U Co-op, your child will experience an exciting, enriching summer in a safe and supportive environment. Our experienced staff and dedicated alumni volunteers are here to ensure every camper feels cared for and inspired.
This summer, our adventures will take us inside the school building, out to local parks, and sometimes even on public transportation to explore nearby destinations. Together, we’ll craft, puzzle, play, cook, run, build friendships, discover new strengths, and create lasting memories.

Please take some time to read the Summer Camp Handbook; you’ll be asked to acknowledge the information within during registration.
Extended Day
Before and after camp extended day care will be available to every camper. Morning care is available from 8:00 to 9:00. Afternoon care is available from 3:30 to 5:30 Monday through Thursday. There is no after school extended day care on Fridays.

All About Animals
Week 1: June 15-June 19 | $500
Camp Description
Spend an adventurous week diving into the wild world of animals! We’ll explore the park like curious nature detectives, whip up tasty dog treats in our school kitchen, play energetic animal-themed games, create our own masterpieces through drawing and painting, read amazing animal stories, and even top it all off with a trip to the zoo.

Week 2: June 22-June 26 | $500
Camp Description
Get ready for a week full of giggles, games, and great adventures! Campers will create their very own board games, go on exciting scavenger hunts, and play lots of fun park games with friends. We’ll use our imaginations, try new challenges, work together, and discover all the different ways to play. It’s going to be a super fun week where every day brings a new game to explore!

Makers Camp
Week 3: June 29-July 2 (4 days) | $400
Camp Description
Welcome to Makers Camp, where creativity comes to life! This week, campers will get their hands messy making oobleck, build amazing creations with LEGO, paint colorful masterpieces, and turn scrounge materials into awesome art. We’ll dream up our own games, try simple sewing projects, and explore all kinds of ways to make and invent. Every day brings something new to create, discover, and proudly share. It’s the perfect camp for curious kids who love to imagine, build, and create!

Dramarama Camp
Week 4: July 6-July 10 | $500
Camp Description
Lights, camera, action! Get ready for a week of playful pretend and big imagination. Campers will act out silly skits, play lots of kid-friendly improv games, and practice using their voices, faces, and bodies to tell stories. We’ll make simple props, try out fun characters, and cheer each other on as we explore the world of drama together. At the end of the week, we’ll share a joyful, low-pressure talent show where everyone can shine in their own special way!

Magic Camp
Week 5: July 13-July 17 | $500
Camp Description
Abracadabra! Welcome to a week where anything feels possible. At Magic Camp, young magicians will learn simple, child-friendly magic tricks, create their own magic wands, and discover the secrets of illusion through hands-on activities and storytelling. We’ll explore the “science of magic,” and practice performing with our friends. With laughter, imagination, and plenty of wow moments, this camp gives every child the chance to feel like a real magician!

Mad Science Camp
Week 6: July 20-July 24 | $500
Camp Description
Get ready for a week of wild and wacky science fun! In Mad Science Camp, young scientists will explore fizzy, bubbly, colorful experiments and go on outdoor adventures to the park and nearby creek to discover the science hiding in nature. We’ll play with magnets, mix mystery potions, make things that bounce or ooze, and use our senses to explore the world around us. With hands-on discoveries every day, campers will giggle, experiment, observe, and feel the joy of being real little scientists!

Water Week
Week 7: July 27-July 31 | $500
Camp Description
Get ready for a week full of splashes and giggles! During Water Week, campers will explore water through simple, bubbly experiments, play with boats and water balloons, and stay cool with lots of silly water-themed games. Campers will enjoy a field trip to the Green Lake wading pool, where we can dip our toes, play with friends, and discover all the fun water can bring. It’s the perfect week to splash, play, create, and enjoy summertime together!

Build It! Camp
Week 8: August 3-August 7 | $500
Camp Description
From legos to marble runs, puzzles to popsicle stick bridges, blocks to Magna-Tiles, this week will celebrate the builder in all of us. We will spend time outside building boats out of natural materials to float in Ravenna Creek. Our camp will culminate with a giant fort building pajama day!

Week 9: August 10-August 14 | $500
Camp Description
Welcome to Art Camp, where creativity shines all week long! Campers will explore color, texture, and imagination as they paint, draw, sculpt, and create in all kinds of fun ways. We’ll make awesome tie-dye shirts full of swirls and splashes, make amazing recycled art, and try out new art tools and techniques each day. With lots of freedom to experiment and plenty of cheerful mess, this camp is all about expressing yourself, trying new things, and having fun!

Get ready for a week full of amazing adventures! Campers will explore Ravenna Park, go on nature walks, search for hidden treasures, and learn simple outdoor skills. We’ll build small shelters, follow kid-friendly maps, play adventure games, and discover cool things about the world around us. Each day brings a new quest, new friends, and lots of chances to be brave, curious, and creative. It’s the perfect week for little explorers who love to discover!

Unleash your inner artist in a week dedicated to comics and graphic storytelling! Campers will design characters, craft eye-catching panels, and learn how to bring action, humor, and emotion to life on the page. We’ll explore different illustration styles, experiment with style and technique, and take an inspiring field trip to the library to discover how the pros do it. By the end of the week, every camper will have a comic creation all their own!

Tie on your apron and step into a week of tasty adventure! Each day features a new mealtime theme—breakfast, snacks, lunch, dinner, and even dessert! Campers will explore cookbooks, create their own menus and grocery lists, and take a fun field trip to the grocery store to see how chefs plan for real. With hands-on cooking projects and plenty of delicious discoveries, every camper will finish the week with a personalized recipe book filled with their own culinary creations!

Are you ready for a week bursting with creativity?! Campers will transform found materials into amazing works of art, experimenting with texture, shape, and imagination. We’ll craft unique upcycled sculptures, add some compostable guerilla art to Ravenna Park, design tie-dye creations, and explore a variety of mediums and techniques throughout the week. With endless materials and open-ended inspiration, this camp is all about inventing, creating, and making magic from the unexpected!

Let’s unleash our creativity and engineering skills at Building Camp! Dive into hands-on challenges like designing wild Rube-Goldberg machines, crafting speedy paper airplanes and sturdy boats, and tackling fun science and engineering experiments. Campers will also build epic forts indoors in the gym and construct natural shelters out in the park. It’s a week packed with invention, teamwork, and all the thrill of bringing ideas to life. It’s perfect for every budding ready to make something amazing!

Outdoor Adventure Week
Week 10: August 17-August 21 | $500

Get ready to explore the great outdoors like a true adventurer! This week is packed with hands-on survival skills—from building shelters and starting fires safely to finding your way using map reading and compass navigation. Campers will embark on thrilling geocaching quests, discover how to identify plants and wildlife, and learn essential outdoor safety tips. With every challenge, you’ll build confidence, teamwork, and a deeper connection to nature. Adventure awaits—are you ready to answer the call?
Kindergarten Readiness Programs
Kindergarten readiness lays the foundation for a child’s confidence, curiosity, and success in school and beyond. Research shows that strong readiness skills support long-term academic growth, reduce stress during the transition to kindergarten, and empower children to feel capable, joyful, and excited about learning. This camp will help children practice social, emotional, and foundational skills, such as cooperation, communication, problem-solving, and independence. These skills will help them engage with new routines, build friendships, and thrive in their new learning environment.
We’re offering three two week readiness sessions for rising kindergarten students; each session is $800.00 per student.

Our Amazing World
Session 1: July 6-July 17 | $800
Session Description
Join us for two weeks of wonder as we explore Our Amazing World! Designed especially for rising kindergarteners, this readiness program blends playful learning with hands-on discovery of the earth, sky, plants, animals, and the world right outside our door. Each day children investigate a new part of our planet, studying weather, digging into soil and seeds, observing insects, experimenting with water, and creating art inspired by nature. Along the way, campers practice essential kindergarten skills such as cooperation, independence, early literacy and math, problem-solving, and fine motor development. Through joyful outdoor adventures, interactive science exploration, and rich storytelling, children gain confidence, curiosity, and a deeper understanding of the amazing world they live in. This camp will help every young learner feel ready and excited to take their next big step into kindergarten.

Imagination Station
Session 2: July 20-July 31 | $800
Session Description
All aboard the Imagination Station! In this kindergarten readiness session, children dive into a world powered by creativity, problem-solving, and playful exploration. Each day invites young learners to step into a new imaginative adventure by building cities from blocks, inventing characters and stories in dramatic play, creating art from unexpected materials, and experimenting with simple STEM challenges that spark curiosity. As the campers dream, build, pretend, and create, they will also be strengthening key kindergarten skills such as cooperation, communication, independence, early literacy and math, and fine motor development. This warm, child-centered program celebrates the magic of imagination while helping every rising kindergartener feel confident, capable, and excited for the school year ahead.

Builders and Problem Solvers
Session 3: August 3-August 14 | $800

Get ready to think, build, and discover in our Builders and Problem Solvers kindergarten readiness program! During these adventurous two weeks, rising kindergarteners become engineers, designers, and creative thinkers as they explore how things work and how problems get solved. Through open-ended building challenges, collaborative LEGO creations, marble and ball runs, simple machines, real-world STEM investigations, and imaginative construction play, children strengthen essential kindergarten skills like cooperation, perseverance, fine motor control, spatial reasoning, and early math concepts. Each day offers opportunities to plan, test, revise, and celebrate new ideas, which boosts confidence and nurtures a growth mindset. This exciting, play-based program empowers young learners to see themselves as capable builders and thoughtful problem solvers, ready to take on the challenges of kindergarten and beyond.
