Tuition Assistance

University Cooperative School values socioeconomic diversity. Since the school’s beginnings, tuition assistance has been offered to give more families the opportunity to offer their children our incredible educational journey. A limited amount of tuition assistance is available to new families. The school makes every effort to meet financial needs.

Apply for Tuition Assistance

Applying for tuition assistance at University Cooperative School takes less than thirty minutes. Like many independent schools, we use a third-party tuition assistance calculation service, Clarity, to assess whether a family is eligible for assistance and at what level. The Clarity formula takes into account a family’s income, assets, debts, and more.

To apply for financial aid, follow the steps below. In order to be considered, you must apply by January 31, 2025.

  1. Create a Clarity account. Keep your password handy as you will likely need to revisit your account. You can also familiarize yourself with the platform and process using the guides below (available in English and Spanish).

  2. Gather documents that you will need to complete your financial aid application. These documents might include 2024 pay stubs, utility bills, and statements related to bank accounts, credit cards, investments, retirement plans, major education or medical debts, mortgages, vehicles, and medical/dental expenses.

  3. The Clarity application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete, and it is mobile-friendly, so you can complete it from anywhere. You are also able to save your progress and return to it at any time. At the end of the application, there is a $60 submission fee. Clarity automatically assigns fee waivers to families based on income and assets. Please reach out to us with any concerns about the fee. The deadline is January 31, 2025.

  4. Upload PDF versions of all 2024 W-2s and 1099s to Clarity no later than February 15, 2025.

Clarity will provide you and the school with a calculation of what your family can contribute toward tuition. The Clarity calculation does not guarantee that you will receive a certain amount from our school. Rather, University Cooperative School will use the calculated amount for each family in conjunction with available tuition assistance funds to make financial aid determinations.

If parent/guardians are separated or divorced, both households must submit a Tuition Assistance application in Clarity along with the above items.

All applications are kept confidential.
