Sharon Kong joined University Cooperative School as a 1st-2nd grade teacher in 2024. Ms. Sharon was born and raised in Washington and graduated from Washington State University with a degree in early childhood education with an emphasis in ELL (English language learners). She spent the last couple of years working with children from all over the world while teaching in Mexico City and Cairo Egypt. She loves to to learn through exploring and hope to create a purposeful environment in her classroom where her students can do the same. Her goal is to encourage students to become lifelong learners by being mindful of their strengths and weaknesses and enjoy the journey for growth. When Sharon is not in the classroom, she enjoys learning new languages (she currently speaks 4 and hopes to learn more someday), traveling the world, paddle boarding in Lake Washington, reading, doing crafts, drinking Americanos (with a splash of cream), and spending the day with family and friends.
