Hello U-Coop families! I am so excited to be joining your wonderful community and look forward to getting to know all of you over the coming year. I returned to Seattle this summer after two years in Albuquerque where I worked as a preschool teacher and got my elementary education teaching license at the University of New Mexico.

I am now finishing up my M.A. requirements remotely and am planning to graduate from UNM in the spring. I spent my K-12 years at Kapka Cooperative School, McGilvra Elementary School, Seattle Girls’ School, Garfield High School, and the Nova Project. I have seen a lot of different learning communities and academic structures and can’t wait to discover more about what makes U Co-op such a supportive and inspiring place to learn and grow. I majored in English and Gender Studies at Willamette University in Salem, OR and spent a few years after graduation working in a preschool and garden center in Portland.

After moving back to Washington I spent the better part of a year living off the grid on Waldron Island in the San Juans. I worked on a farm and got a little construction experience making a tiny house on the property habitable. I am currently living in and remodeling a house in Fremont with my partner, our two dogs, two cats, and an unreasonable number of houseplants. We’re hoping for chickens and a big veggie garden in the spring!
