ParentsParent participation is a vital part of school. We believe that children benefit from the diverse talents and perspectives that parents bring to the classroom. With this in mind, we ask parents to work in the classroom once a week for half of the school year. We also meet monthly to discuss curriculum and school business. We participate in decision-making, planning, fundraising, and maintenance. Each family holds a committee job which supports the running of the school. Families also take turns cleaning the classroom on the weekend. As a result of being a coop, we are able to offer a wide spectrum of activities, to individualize the teaching of skills, and to keep tuition low. Tuition at the coop is approximately half the cost of other private schools. |
